While still a school he formed his first band, in 1984, which is an instrumental band. Their band gigs around London and it opened the show artist / legendary bands like Traffic, Jimmi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Tyrannosaurus Rex (later known as the T-Rex). In 1968, he left the band to focus on his studies at Imperial College.
When in college, hanging out with my often-May Roger Taylor and later formed a trio hard rock band called Smile. Instead he also continued his education at the S2 level math and science majors, but then instead decided to focus more fully on music.
Smile band signed with Mercury Records and released one single that was not successful. Then they added Freddy Mercury on vocals, and changing the position of their band's name became Queen.
After working with several bassist, they finally found and recruited John Deacon in 1971. Queen later signed a contract with EMI and released his debut album (Queen) in 1973 with the main strength of their album: a combination of Freddie Mercury, opera vocals and riff-riff cool Brian May.
Brian May with Queen continues berekperimen by developing their sound. Albun A Night at the Opera was released 1975 and spawned the hit song "Bohemian Rhapsody", which broadcast their music skills and prowess as a songwriter.
Both of their next album A Day At The Races in 1976 and News of the World in 1977 also with great success on radio and in music stores with their hits like "We Will Rock You" and even "We Are The Champions" from the album News of the World even used a song of victory in sports competitions around the world until now.
Interestingly, one of the songs from the album News, "It's Late" is a song where Brian May using a two-Handed tapping and hammer-on as a solo guitar and a year later the new Eddie Van Halen's famous two-Handed Tapping with his own style. May said that tapping technique which he used from a guitar band diconteknya clubs in the area of Texas. According to the band's guitarist Billy Gibbons instead (ZZ Top) who first used it and he just imitate him.
After Freddie Mercury's death in 1991, Queen was officially disbanded. Only on special events such as the "Concert for Life tribute to Mercury" in 1992 (raising money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, formed to raise awareness of the dangers of AIDS).
Brian May and then focus more on solo career, releasing Back To The Light in 1993. A year later he released Live at Brixton Academy, whose contents are a mix of songs from his solo career and a collection of Queen songs. In 1998 he released an album entitled Another World, where Jeff Beck joined the guitar fills on the song "The Guv'nor".
